Salesforce recently announced that Salesforce CPQ will soon enter an “End of Sale” (EOS) phase, signaling a major shift for customers relying on CPQ for their quoting needs.

While existing Salesforce CPQ customers can continue to use the product, renew subscriptions, and receive support, Salesforce's future investments will clearly focus on Revenue Cloud as the next-generation solution for Quote-to-Cash.

With no major updates or AI innovations in Salesforce CPQ over the past several years, the move to Revenue Cloud — fully built on the core Salesforce platform — represents a natural transition.

Let’s dive into the Summer ’25 release highlights for Revenue Cloud, Salesforce’s unified platform for pricing, quoting, contracting, fulfillment, and billing.

Revenue Cloud: Product Catalog Management

The Summer '25 release delivers major improvements to product browsing and catalog management in Revenue Cloud. Most notably, the Advanced Configurator for Revenue Cloud is now generally available – a major upgrade that will replace the standard configurator over time.

With the Advanced Configurator, you can reduce the number of rules managed by business admins by defining constraints at an abstract level and get better results with advanced algorithms that you can use to link and backtrack rules.

Additionally, you can now set a default catalog on your product list page, configure seamless catalog switching with Lightning App Builder or flows, and control the visibility of key features like the product cart and Guided Product Selection.

These enhancements give businesses greater flexibility to tailor the product discovery experience, helping customers navigate extensive product catalogs more easily and make informed purchasing decisions.

Additionally, sales teams can now manage larger, more complex product bundles with expanded attribute support — growing from 15 to 200 attributes per product — and can scale product creation more efficiently by generating up to 10,000 products from a single classification record.

Searching extensive catalogs is also faster, with optimized search capabilities for catalogs of up to 20 million products. Plus, sales reps and customers benefit from simplified quote management, with new options to control which child products display in the Transaction Line Editor, ensuring better focus on essential products in large bundles.

Finally, subscription management becomes more efficient with auto-renewals for term-based products, reducing administrative overhead and ensuring seamless customer service continuity.

Together with updates to Product Catalog Management objects, these enhancements make it easier for organizations to manage large-scale product portfolios, speed up sales cycles, and deliver a better overall customer experience.

Revenue Cloud: Pricing

The Summer ‘25 release brings powerful enhancements to discounting capabilities in Revenue Cloud.

Businesses can now apply cumulative discounts based on both volume and tiered quantities, even factoring in past orders to reward ongoing customer loyalty.

New options in the Price Adjustment Matrix also allow users to stack and sequence discounts, giving teams greater flexibility to create strategic pricing models that adapt to customer behavior.

Pricing procedures are now smarter and more intuitive with several key updates. Admins can map pricing procedure plans to specific phases of the business lifecycle, ensuring tasks and evaluations are performed in a logical and sequential manner.

Plus, concurrent processing of pricing elements improves performance, and new features like Simplified Input Mode, Auto-fill Line Items, and enhanced simulation options (using Quote or Order IDs) streamline pricing workflows and reduce setup time.

For greater historic pricing visibility and troubleshooting, Revenue Cloud now tracks a product’s minimum and maximum prices over time, instead of just the lowest price. Teams can also leverage debug logs from pricing sessions to quickly identify and resolve pricing issues.

Together, these updates improve pricing transparency, optimize system performance, and help businesses deliver a more seamless quoting and ordering experience.

Revenue Cloud: Billing

In the Summer ‘25 release, Salesforce has introduced a new Billing App to simplify day-to-day billing operations. This centralized hub enables users to easily schedule invoices, create credit memos, and process payments, while providing an enhanced account view to quickly access all billing-related information.

The addition of Billing Profiles allows for easy retrieval of preferred billing details such as billing day and address across quotes, orders, and contracts. The Billing Operations Console further improves visibility into billing data, offering tools to monitor batch runs, retry document generation, address failed invoices, and manage invoice schedules more efficiently.

New enhancements to tax calculations now allow businesses to calculate taxes based on the shipment origin. The ‘Ship From’ address is incorporated into the tax contract and automatically flows into Billing Schedule Group, Invoice Line, and Credit Memo Line records, ensuring more accurate and compliant tax handling for shipped goods

Additionally, payment processing has been expanded through integrations with Stripe and Adyen, making it easier to save payment methods, specify merchant accounts, automate payment schedule creation, and apply payments at both line-item and invoice levels.

Currency conversion is also automatically captured, and APIs are available for issuing refunds on canceled or modified purchases.

Finally, Salesforce has strengthened its Collections capabilities with the introduction of Collection Plan Items. This new feature helps companies track outstanding balances and automate customer reminder notifications, reducing manual follow-up efforts.

Revenue Cloud: Transaction Management

Salesforce recently showcased how Agentforce can streamline quote creation in Revenue Cloud, enabling sales teams to generate accurate and compliant quotes faster than ever.

The Summer '25 release introduces Agentforce Quoting, a major enhancement that enables sales reps to create, update, and manage quotes by using natural language prompts. By adding the Quote Management topic to your agent, teams can leverage conversational quoting to reduce administrative tasks and accelerate deal cycles.

Additionally, order management becomes more flexible with a new Change button for activated orders processed by Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator, allowing users to adjust quantities or add products. Each change generates a new order version for fulfillment, improving accuracy and traceability during the fulfillment process.

Contract and pricing management sees several improvements to increase efficiency and customization. When adding products to a contract's pricing schedule, list prices now automatically populate from the linked price book, and users can also add custom fields to Contract Item Price records. New validations and decision tables can be configured to enforce correct pricing.

Document generation also got an upgrade with support for larger font files, ensuring brand consistency. Another important update is the removal of amendment limits on assets — users can now amend assets an unlimited number of times, offering greater flexibility for ongoing contract changes.

Renewals are now smarter and more automated. When renewing assets with expired subscriptions, the system automatically creates the renewal quote and order, allowing users to specify new start dates without manual intervention.

A prebuilt flow template streamlines the creation of renewal opportunities for products with term-defined selling models. Users also have more control over start dates when modifying termed, evergreen, and one-time assets, with automatic generation of amendment quotes or orders.

The Transaction Line Editor and Approval processes both receive meaningful usability enhancements. In the Transaction Line Editor, users can now control the visibility of child products in bundles, benefit from wrapped column headers for clarity, and experience a smoother saving process with real-time notifications. Users can also easily clone complex quote line item structures and display dependent picklists directly on line items.

Approval workflows are improved with Einstein AI-powered dynamic notifications, allowing direct email approvals with contextual details, and Smart Approvals enabling users to pick up resubmissions where they left off.

Lastly, partner users or groups/queues can now fully participate in approvals and manage data from Experience Cloud sites, expanding collaboration beyond internal teams.

Revenue Cloud: Usage

Provide customers with more flexible and competitive pricing by using non-monetary units like tokens or credits to capture usage charges and encourage greater consumption through tiered pricing models in Revenue Cloud.

Salesforce Revenue Cloud now supports token-based pricing, allowing companies to use non-monetary units like tokens or credits to offer more flexible and competitive pricing models.

By rating different usage types — such as data (GB) and SMS (count) — in a common unit before converting to currency, businesses can simplify pricing across a wide range of products and services.

This enables flexible consumption-based pricing, encourages higher usage through tiered structures, and streamlines rate management by allowing rate cards to include both token and currency values for base and adjustment rates.

Other updates to Usage in Revenue Cloud include the ability to switch between manual static table sync and real-time data access for all rating elements. This allows users to access the latest data for rating elements with the new real-time lookup option.
